Management

The DiaGenic management teams combines individuals with extensive and relevant experience in research and development, product management, business development, fund raising and investor relations. Several have held senior positions in research institutes, venture funds or major international pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies.

Henrik Lund, Chief Executive Officer
Henrik Lund (1956) is Chief Executive Officer in DiaGenic ASA. He came to Diagenic from the role of Global Vice President MC Clinical Development, AstraZeneca R&D. Lund has more than 15 years international management experience from the pharmaceutical industry. His academic background is from University of Oslo and University of California, San Francisco. Lund joined AstraZeneca in 1994 and since 2005 he has headed AstraZeneca's clinical development, phase I-III, across 43 subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. For the last 5 years Lund has been part of the Clinical Development management team. Prior to joining AstraZeneca Lund has gained experience from both commercial and R&D management roles from Nycomed Imaging and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. Henrik Lund is also a board member in other Life Science organisations in Scandinavia (Oslo Cancer Cluster, Medcoast Scandinavia).

Magnus Sjögren, Chief Medical Officer
Magnus Sjögren (1964) is Chief Medical Officer in DiaGenic ASA. Dr. Sjögren will be part of the management team and responsible for the global clinical diagnostic programs and strategies of DiaGenic. Prior to joining DiaGenic ASA he was Vice President Global Exploratory Development at UCB Pharma SA in Belgium and UK and before that has had executive and senior scientific positions at Schering-Plough, Organon and AstraZeneca. He is Associate Professor since 2002 with a PhD in Clinical Psychiatry in 1999 at Gothenburg University, Sweden. He is a trained Psychiatrist and an author of more than 200 scientific publications and has been invited speaker at numerous International conferences. Dr. Sjogren earned his MD at the Health University in Linkoping and was further educated at Gothenburg University and has been affiliated to Karolinska Institute. His scientific work has been focused on clinical Neuroscience research topics including diagnostic biomarkers. Magnus joined DaiGenic in September 2011.

Praveen Sharma, Technology and Product Development Director
Praveen Sharma (1964) is a Director and co-founder of DiaGenic. He holds a doctorate in molecular biology from NLH, 1995. Sharma has held several research positions, most recently at the Norwegian Institute for Forest Research. He co-founded DiaGenic in 1998.

Ruben Ekbråten, Chief Financial Officer
Ruben Ekbråten (1976) is responsible for finance in DiaGenic ASA. He has an MBA from Heriot Watt University, and a BBA from Norwegian School of Management. He has worked as a stockbroker and has held several positions within finance at GE Healthcare in Norway and internationally. Before starting at DiaGenic in 2007 he was the Finance Manager for Japan and Central Costs in GE Healthcare.

Morten Sten Johansen, International Business Director
Morten Sten Johansen (1975) is the International Business Director at DiaGenic ASA with responsibility for sales and business development. He is educated as a bioengineer and has several years experience from leading IVD companies. He joined bioMérieux in 1999 where he was Business Manager for the Nordic countries within the segments of molecular biology, clinical chemistry and virology. From 2003 he led Ventana Medical Systems (Roche) in the Nordic region with a focus on business development and organisational structure. He joined DiaGenic in January 2009.

Edith Rian, Operations Director
Edith Rian (1966) is responsible for manufacturing and laboratory operations in DiaGenic. She has an M.Sc in Biotechnology from NTNU, 1990, and a Ph.D in Molecular Biology from the University of Oslo, 1999. She did post doc studies at Norwegian Radium Hospital and later held positions in management of research groups and projects at Institute of Cancer Research at Oslo University Hospital. She joined DiaGenic in 2008.
